For several years now, the automotive industry worldwide has been experiencing unprecedented growth, both in terms of production volumes and the development of new vehicles, their exteriors and interiors, and drive concepts. Regardless of this trend, automotive companies have always been the driving force behind innovation in shaping the value chain for most other industrial sectors.
However, today it is no longer enough to simply focus on an optimized, lean value chain. Automation and digitalization must be integrated into production concepts to remain competitive. The pace of innovation and investments in R&D activities have increased significantly in recent years. This has been driven primarily by the growing popularity of electromobility, autonomous driving, and entirely new mobility concepts.

Traditional automakers and their suppliers are now confronted with new competitors like Tesla and Google. This poses a serious threat to their very existence. The resulting innovation dynamic has led to a massive increase in the rate of new production launches. These changes in the environment and the trend toward "smart factories" are resulting in a multitude of complex launch scenarios that are often difficult to manage, both in terms of capacity and expertise, within the existing organizational structure.
Until a few years ago, it seemed impossible that globalization efforts in the value chain could gain even more momentum. Now, the continuous optimization of the "operational footprint" is a central component of the strategic control loop for most companies in the industry.


Building on these strategic considerations, relocating machinery and equipment from point A to point B is now standard practice, not an exception. However, in addition to the high pace of innovation and globalization, societal and demographic changes also have a significant impact on companies in this sector.
Furthermore, despite strong financial resources, the shortage of experienced managers repeatedly leads to situations requiring interim staffing.
